In the process of infrastructure construction, such as highway, railway, dyke and civil construction, the original landform and vegetation are inevitably damaged, which leads to water and soil loss, the destroyed ecological environment and the bad service safety and life of engineering facilities. Therefore, how to protect soil and restore ecology in the process of infrastructure construction and maintenance is one of the important tasks.

Ecological concrete, as a kind of functional building materials with porous structure, is formed by coarser aggregate coated with cement paste. The ecological concrete designed and prepared by our research group has the characteristics of low alkalinity, high porosity, high strength, good water and fertilizer conservation and slow release of fertilizer.
